Philip David Hogan was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where he has lived most of his life. As a boy, he simultaneously discovered the books of Stephen King and the films of Steven Spielberg and quickly began a love affair with epic, emotional storytelling. In the late 90′s he attended film school in Ontario before embarking on a career as an independent filmmaker and screenwriter. His subsequent short films have played at various festivals throughout North America and several of his feature length screenplays have done very well in some of the most prestigious competitions in the U.S. In 2010, with his head full of more magic, monsters and mayhem than he knew what to do with, Philip finally decided to fulfill a lifelong ambition and complete his first novel, which quickly blossomed into a series of ongoing books called The Weeping Tree Chronicles. The first, BELIEVE, is available now.

Tara has worked in film and television since she moved to Toronto in 2002. She studied makeup at Complections International, and even before graduation she found employment in shops and on set.
Specializing in special effects makeup, Tara has worked on everything from children’s television puppet shows to gore-heavy zombie films. Much of her time has been spent as a shop worker, assisting with such projects as making massacred bodies for Shake Hands With the Devil and ZOS: Zone of Separation, or puppets for Nanalan’ and Mr. Meaty.
She has worked on several genre productions, including The Dresden Files, Evil Dead: The Musical, and Pontypool.
The first feature film in which she worked on-set was Land of the Dead, as an assistant to the make-up department under Greg Nicotero of KNB, and for one glorious day, as a zombie.
Since moving back to Newfoundland Tara has worked in the makeup department on Republic of Doyle, and for stage shows and short films. She fills her spare time working on commissions, and making severed heads and Necronomicons for fun. She recently went into business with her Republic of Doyle co-worker, Andrew Squires. They call themselves Outrage FX.
